Veronica, a litigation expert, has lived and worked in the Dolphin Coast area for over 30 years.

After her BA, HDip Ed., at Cork University, Ireland and eager to travel after qualifying, Veronica took up a post with the Ireland Lesotho Aid Programme in 1980. Living on her own in rural Lesotho was a vast change from her comfort zone. Having decided to settle in South Africa, she completed her LL.B at Pietermaritzburg University in 1985, after which she worked in the insurance industry and as a State Prosecutor before entering private practice. She first served articles with attorney, Praveen Sham, the past president of the Law Societies of South Africa, and later joined the historical North Coast practice, Laurie C Smith Inc., where she practised for 12 years. After practising in Ballito from 2001 to 2007, she joined Louis Wiesinger and Herbert Schulz, two conveyancing attorneys.

Veronica developed a large practice for the diverse needs of one of the fastest developing regions in Southern Africa, the Dolphin Coast. Her time in the area gives her a fantastic advantage. She has watched the area grow from a small seaside hamlet to a substantial town with a complex infrastructure, world class residential areas and hotels.

Veronica is chairperson of the Kwa Dukuza Attorneys Association, past chairwoman of the iLembe Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Steering Committee, acting chairperson of the Small Claims Court Advisory Board, and regularly attends court and case-flow management meetings for the district of Lower Tugela. She has also been active in ratepayer’s associations.

She thrives on running an absolutely ethical practice and is often approached for advice by colleagues and newly qualified attorneys. While in Lesotho, Veronica learnt independence, resourcefulness and survival skills which she believes are useful to this day. She is completely committed to providing a quality service based on sound and well considered advice. She is well known for going that extra mile for her clients and for very high success rates in litigious matters.

Veronica played squash for her university in Ireland and South Africa, and completed a Comrades Marathon. Time to herself is very precious, but with a busy practice, the client always comes first. When time permits, she runs, travels, reads, and entertains. Veronica and her husband, Steve, have been together for over 30 years and have raised three children.
